Have you ever picked up that piece of sea glass or shell and thought it was the coolest thing ever, but what can I do with it? That's exactly what I had been doing for years until finally this art was born. It’s a combination of "found" beach objects, watercolor paintings and my sense of design.

About The Artist

After graduating from the Rocky Mountain School of Art (Denver) in 1980, Brian has had a long and successful career as a graphic designer and illustrator. He currently freelances his skills to several design and advertising companies throughout the country (kuehndesign.com). But when not designing, Brian can be found walking the beaches in Florida, finding unique objects to use in his "other" art.

About The Art

This orgainic art, as you will see, is extremely unique and combines all sorts of materials, textures and colors making each piece truly "one-of-a-kind". After collecting unusual and weathered pieces of shell, glass and wood, Brian creates highly textured watercolor backgrounds that enhance the colors of these objects. The backgrounds are then torn to expose the natural paper edge. Everything is assembled with industrial strength glue, screws, wire and rivets then mounted on foam board which is wrapped in unique handmade papers.
